In an industry long dominated by high prices and rigid packages, Dave Lim is leading a quiet revolution — one that’s redefining who gets access to personal training, and how trainers build meaningful careers.
With over a decade of experience across 18 fitness branches, Dave has worn every hat — from personal trainer to assistant manager, fitness manager to district manager, and eventually, gym owner. Along the way, one truth became impossible to ignore:
Most people want a personal trainer — but very few can afford to sustain it.
At many commercial gyms, personal training starts at RM1,500 per month. Boutique studios? RM3,000 or more. These numbers push quality coaching out of reach for the everyday person — and Dave knew that needed to change.
That vision gave birth to Viking Fitness.

Dave’s innovative approach hasn’t gone unnoticed.
He was invited as the Guest expert on television as fitness coach on NTV7 for two consecutive years, leading live national coaching sessions that reached thousands of viewers. His on-screen expertise and inspiring methods drew a wide audience — and even converted many TV hosts into long-term clients.
In 2019, Dave’s leadership was recognized on the highest stage. He was awarded “Best Fitness Manager of Fitness First” at the largest fitness industry event of the decade — hosted by Evolution Wellness, the parent company of Fitness First, Celebrity Fitness, and CHi Fitness. With over 2,000 staff in attendance across entire Malaysia, this award cemented Dave’s reputation as one of the region’s most respected fitness leaders.
But Dave’s impact doesn’t stop at accolades or airtime — his vision is bigger.
At Viking Fitness, he’s building more than a gym brand. He’s creating a career platform for trainers. Many of Viking’s top coaches began with no fitness background.
